I got an email today from a “frustrated salon owner” who recently opened a salon and is dismayed to find the regulars no longer tip based on the old assumption that one never tips the salon owner. I’m here to put the debate to rest: In this day and age, you’re supposed to tip the salon owner.

I’m hoping my readers can help “Frustrated.” She wants to know how she can tactfully let people know she deserves a tip. I have no idea what she can do apart from framing my article on the matter and putting it up at her work station. So I figured I’d open the blog up to your comments.
